A Academia do Grammy anunciou a lista de indicados a 64 edição da premiação. O evento acontecerá no dia 31 de janeiro de 2022, no Staples Center, em Los Angeles.
A live de revelação dos indicados foi apresentada por membros do BTS, H.E.R, Billie Eilish e a banda Måneskin.
Na edição será adotado um novo sistema de indicações, realizadas pelos mais de 11 mil membros. Antes, a votação era feita por um painel composto por até 30 especialistas com identidades desconhecidas.
O número de indicados às categorias principais também foi alterado e passou de 8 para 10.
Além das novidades nas votações, mais duas categorias foram adicionadas, a de ‘Melhor Performance de Música Global’ e ‘Melhor Álbum de Música Urbana’. A Academia promete ter maior abrangência e diversidade no contrato da cerimônia.
