The biographical film “Bob Marley: One Love,” capturing the essence of the reggae icon, premiered yesterday, Friday, on Paramount+ in the United States and Canada. The international release date will be announced soon, and the film is also available on MGM+.
With a strong box office performance, opening in February on Valentine’s Day, the film grossed an impressive $28.6 million in its opening weekend and has now amassed over $175 million globally.
The star-studded cast includes Kingsley Ben-Adir as Marley and Lashana Lynch playing his wife, Rita Marley. The cast also features James Norton, Tosin Cole, Aston Barrett Jr., among other talents who bring Marley’s story to life.
Variety’s review notes that while the film extensively details Marley’s life, it sticks somewhat to biographical clichés. However, Lynch’s performance as Rita is a highlight, bringing depth and emotion to the film.
