Last Friday (5), HBO unveiled significant updates for the third season of the acclaimed series “The White Lotus”. Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, and Tayme Thapthimthong are the latest additions to the cast, joining previously announced Natasha Rothwell.

The upcoming season, created by Mike White, will commence filming in February across the exotic locales of Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok, Thailand. Continuing its anthology format, the series will follow a new group of guests at another White Lotus property.

This new phase of the show results from a partnership between HBO and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), which will support both the filming and promotion of the project. Janet Graham Borba, Executive Vice President of Production at HBO, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting the potential to showcase Thai beauty and culture.

Thapanee Kiatphaibool, the governor of TAT, expressed pride in having Thailand as the backdrop for the series, emphasizing the country’s diverse landscapes and culture as enriching elements for the production.

“The White Lotus” has been a standout since its debut in July 2021. Initially set in Hawaii, the series clinched 10 Emmy awards, including Best Miniseries, out of 20 nominations. The second season, set in Sicily, also garnered acclaim, receiving 23 nominations, including Best Drama Series.

Both previous seasons are available on the HBO Max platform, cementing the series as one of the most significant current dramas in the television landscape.
